We build tools for people who want to use technology without being used by it.
The internet used to be something you visited. Now it follows you around, studies your habits, and fights for every second of your attention.
Every app wants to be the last thing you look at before bed and the first thing you reach for in the morning. Feeds are tuned to maximize engagement, not enjoyment. The scroll never ends because it was designed that way.
We think that's broken.
Software should be a tool, not a trap. It should do its job and then get out of the way. No algorithms deciding what you see. No dark patterns keeping you hooked. No data harvested to sell your attention to the highest bidder.
We sell products, not people.
Parent-curated, kid-safe front end for Crunchyroll. Whitelist shows, hide everything else.
My kids love animated shows, and Crunchyroll is both a wonderful source of shows for them and a cesspool of fan service that's impossible to filter out. CrunchyList is a Chrome extension that lets you whitelist certain shows and provides an alternate front page menu that only takes you to the shows you want, with parent PIN protection for the whitelist. This is in development, but install instructions using developer mode in Chrome and the code are available on GitHub:
